RifadTech ("we", "us", or "our") operates the EduGuard mobile application ("the App").
EduGuard is a school management and student safety application designed to help schools, parents or legal guardians, teachers, and authorized security staff manage student attendance, dismissal requests, student pickup, authorized delegates, and notifications.
This Privacy Policy explains what information EduGuard processes, why it is used, how it is protected, and how users can contact us regarding their information.
By using EduGuard, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Who Can Use EduGuard
EduGuard is intended to be used by authorized adults, including:
- Parents or legal guardians.
- Teachers and authorized school staff.
- Authorized school security personnel.
Students do not create accounts or log in to EduGuard directly.
However, EduGuard may process and display information about students because this information is necessary to provide attendance, dismissal, pickup, and school management services.

2.1 Parent or Legal Guardian Information
When a parent or legal guardian uses EduGuard, we may process information such as:
- Mobile phone number used for authentication.
- Parent or guardian name.
- Parent or guardian account information.
- Information associated with the parent's or guardian's students.
- Student dismissal and pickup requests.
- Information about authorized pickup delegates.
- Device and notification information required to deliver application notifications.
Parent and guardian information may be provided by the school or collected through the application's authentication and account-management processes.
2.2 Teacher and School Staff Information
Teachers and authorized school staff may use EduGuard to perform school-related functions.
Depending on the user's role, we may process:
- Name.
- Mobile phone number or account identifier.
- School and role information.
- Attendance records and actions performed within the application.
- Student information necessary to perform authorized duties.
- Information relating to student dismissal requests.
2.3 Security Staff Information
Authorized school security personnel may use EduGuard to assist with student dismissal and pickup.
Information processed may include:
- Name or account identifier.
- School and role information.
- Student information necessary to identify the student.
- Dismissal request information.
- Information about the person authorized to receive the student.
2.4 Student Information
EduGuard may process and display student information provided by the associated school.
Depending on the information maintained by the school, this may include:
- Student name.
- Student identification information.
- Student photo.
- School, class, grade, or related school information.
- Parent or guardian association.
- Attendance information.
- Dismissal and pickup information.
- Other information necessary to safely identify and manage the student.
Student information is provided and managed through the school's administrative or backend systems.
Users do not create student records directly through the application.
3. Student Attendance
Teachers and authorized school staff may use EduGuard to record and manage student attendance.
Attendance information may be associated with:
- The student.
- The school.
- The class or relevant school group.
- The teacher or staff member performing the action.
- The date and time of the attendance action.
Attendance information is used to provide school attendance and management functionality.
4. Student Dismissal and Pickup
EduGuard allows parents or legal guardians to submit requests to pick up their associated students.
When a dismissal request is submitted, EduGuard may process information necessary to:
- Identify the requesting parent or guardian.
- Identify the associated student.
- Verify that the requesting user is authorized to request the student's dismissal.
- Verify the parent's or guardian's location when required.
- Allow authorized school staff to review and approve or reject the request.
- Allow authorized security personnel to identify the student.
- Help school staff complete the student handover process.
- Record information related to the dismissal request.
After an approved request, authorized school personnel or security staff may use EduGuard to identify the student and complete the handover to the authorized parent, guardian, or delegate.
5. Authorized Pickup Delegates
EduGuard may allow a parent or legal guardian to designate another person as an authorized delegate to pick up a student on their behalf.
Information relating to the delegate may include information necessary for the school to identify and verify the authorized person.
Delegate information is used for the purpose of facilitating authorized student pickup and maintaining student safety.
Parents and guardians are responsible for providing accurate delegate information and only authorizing individuals who are permitted to pick up the student.
The school or authorized security personnel may verify the identity and authorization of the delegate before releasing the student.
6. Location Information
EduGuard may request access to the device's location when a parent or legal guardian submits a student dismissal or pickup request.
Location information is used to verify that the requesting parent or guardian is within the required distance from the school.
EduGuard does not continuously track the user's location.
EduGuard does not collect the user's location in the background for tracking or advertising purposes.
Location access is used only when necessary for the student dismissal functionality.
7. Notifications
EduGuard uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to deliver push notifications.
Notifications may relate to:
- Student dismissal requests.
- Approval or rejection of dismissal requests.
- Attendance-related events.
- School notifications.
- Other important application events.
To deliver notifications, EduGuard may process technical identifiers such as a device or application notification token.
EduGuard does not use Firebase Analytics.
8. How We Use Information
We process information to:
- Authenticate users.
- Provide secure access to the appropriate school and account.
- Connect parents or guardians with their associated students.
- Display student information to authorized users.
- Record and manage student attendance.
- Submit, review, approve, reject, and process student dismissal requests.
- Verify the location of a parent or guardian when required for a dismissal request.
- Manage authorized pickup delegates.
- Allow authorized school staff and security personnel to safely identify students.
- Send important application notifications.
- Maintain and operate EduGuard and its backend systems.
- Protect the security of students, users, and the application.
- Respond to support requests.
- Comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
We do not use student or parent information for behavioral advertising.
9. Information Sharing
EduGuard may make relevant information available to the associated school and authorized school personnel when necessary to provide educational, attendance, student safety, dismissal, and pickup services.
Depending on their role:
- Parents or guardians may access information relating to their associated students.
- Teachers may access student and attendance information necessary for their authorized duties.
- Authorized security personnel may access information necessary to safely process student pickup.
- School administrators may access information necessary to manage students, users, attendance, and dismissal requests.
We may also use trusted third-party service providers that help us operate technical aspects of EduGuard.
For example, Firebase Cloud Messaging is used to deliver push notifications.
We do not sell personal information or student information to third parties.
We may disclose information when required by applicable law, legal process, court order, or valid governmental request.
10. Student and Children's Data
EduGuard is designed for use by authorized adults, including parents or legal guardians, teachers, school staff, and security personnel.
Students do not create accounts or directly use EduGuard to access their information.
However, because EduGuard provides student attendance, safety, dismissal, and pickup services, the application necessarily processes information relating to students, including information relating to minors.
Student information is processed only for purposes necessary to provide school management, attendance, safety, dismissal, and pickup services.
We do not use student information for behavioral advertising.
11. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, student information, attendance records, and dismissal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
Access to information is controlled according to the user's role and authorization.
Parents, teachers, school staff, and security personnel are provided access to information according to their authorized responsibilities.
However, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
12. Data Retention
We retain personal, student, attendance, and dismissal information for as long as necessary to:
- Provide EduGuard's services.
- Maintain the relationship between the school and its users.
- Maintain appropriate school and student records.
- Maintain relevant safety and security records.
- Resolve disputes.
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
- Enforce applicable agreements and policies.
When information is no longer required for these purposes, it may be deleted or securely disposed of in accordance with applicable data-retention procedures.
Some student or school records may need to be retained by the school according to its policies or applicable legal requirements.

We will review valid deletion requests and take appropriate steps to delete applicable account and personal information, subject to information that we are required or permitted to retain by law or that must be retained by the associated school.
Because student records are managed by schools, requests concerning student records may need to be coordinated with the relevant school.
Deletion of an account may affect the user's ability to access EduGuard services.
14. App Permissions
Depending on the user's role and the functionality being used, EduGuard may request access to certain device capabilities.
Location
Location access may be requested for parents or guardians when submitting a student dismissal or pickup request.
Location is used to verify proximity to the school.
Notifications
Notification permission may be requested to deliver important application notifications.
Camera
EduGuard does not require camera access for its core functionality.
Student photos displayed within the application are retrieved from the application's backend systems and do not require camera access.
15. Third-Party Services
EduGuard uses third-party technical services necessary to provide certain application functionality.
Firebase Cloud Messaging
EduGuard uses Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver push notifications.
EduGuard does not use Firebase Analytics.
Third-party services may process technical information necessary to provide their services in accordance with their own privacy policies.

Parents, guardians, schools, teachers, and authorized staff are responsible for providing accurate information when they are permitted to add or update information.
Schools are responsible for maintaining the accuracy of student information provided through their administrative systems.

When changes are made, we will update the effective date at the top of this Privacy Policy.
